GIGA (veGIGA)

GIGA is a ve(3,3) DEX on Robinhood Chain, running classic pools alongside concentrated liquidity. It keeps the ve(3,3) incentive loop but drops the vote: instead of holders choosing where emissions go each week, an emissions controller measures every gauged pool's revenue and rebalances the emission stream hourly toward the pools being traded.

What is a veGIGA NFT?

A veGIGA NFT is a locked GIGA position held as an NFT. Locking GIGA for six months mints one, and the position is then staked into a protocol vault to earn. Each vault pays in a different asset: one compounds rewards back into veGIGA, the others pay in USDG, ETH or SPY stock tokens.

Two things make veGIGA different from most positions traded on veX:

  • There is nothing to vote on. No gauge votes, no bribe markets, no weekly epoch to time. Staker revenue comes from protocol fees, including a share of swap fees from non-gauged pools.
  • Locks are short. The maximum lock is six months rather than the multi-year locks common elsewhere, so a veGIGA position reaches its unlock date far sooner.

Locks decay toward expiry and are designed to be renewed. There is a 30 day grace window: a position that goes more than 30 days without renewal stops earning until it is renewed again.

Buying a veGIGA NFT on veX transfers the whole position, locked tokens and remaining lock time, in one on-chain transaction.

Unstake before you list

A staked veGIGA is held by the GIGA vault, not by you, so it cannot be listed or sold while it is staked. Staked positions do not appear in your veX dashboard at all, which is the usual reason a position seems to be missing.

Unstake it in the GIGA app first and it returns to your wallet with the lock untouched, amount and unlock date unchanged. There is no exit penalty for unstaking; the only cost is the yield not earned while the position sits unstaked.

Things to check before buying

  • Time left on the lock: veGIGA locks run to six months maximum, so check how much of that remains rather than assuming a long horizon
  • Renewal state: a lock left to decay more than 30 days past its grace window stops earning until renewed
  • Voting power vs locked amount: voting power decays toward the unlock date, so it sits below the locked amount on a decayed lock
  • Current discount vs the market: compare against other live GIGA listings before you commit

How do I sell a locked veGIGA position?

You can sell a locked veGIGA position on veX without waiting for the lock to expire. The buyer takes over the locked GIGA and the remaining lock time.

If the position is staked, unstake it first. Then connect the wallet holding the veGIGA and open your veX dashboard: the position appears under Positions, where you can list it. Set a price, or set a discount to the locked value and let veX work out the price. You approve the NFT once, then confirm the listing.

That approval only lets the marketplace move the NFT when someone buys it. veX is non-custodial, so the position stays in your wallet and you can delist whenever you want. veX charges 0.5% on GIGA sales, paid by the seller.

What is a locked veGIGA position worth?

A veGIGA position usually sells for less than the GIGA locked inside it, because the buyer is taking on the rest of the lock. The seller chooses that discount.
